Bikevegas presents the Highlander - 2009 NZ MTB Marathon Champs.
An old school Mountain Bike Marathon on Rotorua's single track network.
This year running as a stand alone event, it is a classic, old-school style MTB race over one lap of challenging terrain in the world-renowned Whakarewarewa trail network. 2009 will have three different length courses: 20km, 40km and 80km - enough fun for all the family. For 2009 the 80km Highlander course double as the New Zealand mountain bike marathon champs.
All courses will take riders into the trail network and beyond with a great mix of uphill and downhill over forest roads and single track. For those competing in the 80km Highlander we expect it will hurt, but you will love it at the same time.
NEW VENUE: for 2009 the Highlander will start and finish at the Blue Lake Reserve.
