Courses have been mapped out using GPS to ensure accurate distances, thanks to our course designer. This year maps will be released no more than 10 days in advance, firstly instore at our naming sponsor Galaxy Travel, then the Saturday prior instore at Avanti Plus Rotorua and finally Sunday evening the week prior online.
Why??? I want everyone to have an equal chance of a great finish position this year, no more local Rotorua riders getting to ride the course for a month prior to each race. I know some wont like but I think this will make for a fairer, but also giving locals and out of town riders a week or so to decide whether to upgrade or downsize the initial course they had choosen.
